As a statistician, I am interested in the frequency distribution of these favorite song years. My average favorite year is 1965, but the distribution is not at all uniform – there is a very strong mode at 1965, with significantly fewer favorites in the earlier and later years:
1960 1
1961 3
1962 5
1963 7
1964 9
1965 15
1966 10
1967 9
1968 5
1969 5
Looking
by category, Psychedelic/Ecstasy/Visionary favorites only began in 1965, while
the Sixties Chicks, Beach, Car, Dance/Fun, and Love/Heartbreak favorites were
notably earlier.
